Public Accounts Committee launches 11 new inquiries

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today announces eleven new inquiries, with evidence sessions to be held over the next two months.

The programme of inquiries was selected by members of the Committee, in discussions led by the Chair of the Committee, Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP.

Each inquiry is underpinned by its own recent National Audit Office report. Committee members will use reports as a starting point from which to conduct their scrutiny to hold government to account for how it spends public money.

The inquiries are as follows:

• Collecting the right tax from wealthy individuals
• Future of the Equipment Plan
• Government's use of private finance for infrastructure
• Immigration: Skilled worker visas
• Increasing teacher numbers: Secondary and further education
• Introducing T Levels
• Jobcentres
• Reducing NHS waiting times for elective care
• UK Research and Innovation
• Water sector regulation
• Work of the Department for Business and Trade
