The Work and Pensions Committee will hold an evidence session
examining progress towards delivering online pensions dashboards
that would enable people to find information on all their pension
pots and their value in one place.
Although no date has been set for the introduction of the first
dashboard, namely the Government's MoneyHelper, 31 October 2026
is the deadline by which pension schemes and providers must ready
their data for the dashboards. However, recent news reporting has
raised concerns whether this is achievable.
MPs will question industry representatives on, among other
things, their preparation to have the data ready to share by the
autumn 2026 deadline and their experience of developing
commercial dashboards.
Regulators from the Financial Conduct Authority and The Pensions
Regulator – who both have jurisdiction in elements of the
dashboards project – will be quizzed on how they are working with
each other and stakeholders to ensure reasonable and responsible
regulation.
The DWP's Money and Pensions Service, overseeing the Pensions
Dashboards Programme and construction of the Government's
MoneyHelper dashboard, will give evidence on the industry
reaction to and progress towards a staged connection between
industry data and the dashboards. This phasing in is intended to
help prevent technical hitches on the deadline date for data
preparation.
