The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Minister has announced a recruitment
campaign to appoint three Non-Executive Members to the Board of
Londonderry Port and Harbour Commissioners (LPHC)

for both commerce and tourism. The Port handles approximately two

services. Supporting in the region of 1000 jobs, the Port makes a
vital contribution to the North West regional economy.
Minister Kimmins said “These are key positions as the
organisation continues to progress its business-improvement
strategy to ensure the ongoing efficiency of its
operation.
“I would encourage anyone who considers that they meet
the criteria for the posts and feel that they want to make a
positive contribution to the work of LPHC to apply”.
The time commitment for the post will be approximately two full
business days per month. Non-Executive Members will be expected
to attend all Board meetings and other ad-hoc meetings as
required. The Non-Executive Members will receive remuneration of
£9,811 (under review) and reasonable travel and subsistence
costs.
The appointments will be effective from as soon as possible
following Ministerial decision, for a 4-year term.
Applications will be welcomed from all sections of the community.
Women, younger people, people with disabilities and people from
ethnic minority communities are currently under-represented on
DfI Boards. Applications from members of these groups would be
particularly welcome.
