New OECD PISA report on lifelong learning

PISA 2022 Results Volume V: Learning Strategies and Attitudes for Life offers new insights into students' preparedness for continuous learning, adaptability to new circumstances, and ability to navigate unpredictable contexts.

Among the key findings:

• Many students do not engage in key strategies for sustained lifelong learning, with a high percentage of socio-economically advantaged students reporting using lifelong learning strategies compared to their disadvantaged peers. 

• Across the OECD, students feel more anxious about doing mathematics than they did a decade earlier. A few countries saw the opposite trend though, such as Korea which saw the biggest drop in anxiety, 11 percentage points between 2012 and 2022.

• Students motivated by their love of learning enjoy challenging work and learning new things. They are also three times more like to make sure there are no mistakes in their school work and three times more likely to check their homework.
