Rail fare rise while fuel duty remains frozen ‘sends entirely the wrong message’, says Campaign for Better Transport

Commenting on the 4.6% increase in rail fares and £5 increase in
railcards which will take effect on 2 March 2025, Paul Tuohy from
Campaign for Better Transport said: “Raising rail fares
above inflation and hiking the cost of railcards is a kick in the
teeth for people who rely on public transport, especially those on
