Budget 2024: Changes to Air Passenger Duty rates from 1 April 2026

Air Passenger Duty: rates from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027

Rates will increase by the forecast Retail Price Index and be adjusted to account for previous high inflation. The higher rates that apply to the larger private jets will increase by a further 50%. For the tax year 2027 to 2028 and subsequent years, rates will be rounded to the nearest penny. These changes help to account for the real-terms fall in Air Passenger Duty rates and ensure that the aviation sector continue to make a fair contribution to the public finances.
