On his first official engagement since being elected to office,
the Prime Minister will visit Scotland, Northern Ireland and
Wales to meet with the Heads of the Devolved Governments as he
drives forward a decade of national renewal.
In an immediate reset, based on respect, service, and a focus on
delivering for people, the Prime Minister will use the
meetings to discuss how the UK and Devolved Governments will work
together tobegin the work of rebuilding our country.
Prime Minister said:
“People across the United Kingdom are bound by shared
beliefs. Fundamental values of respect, service and community
which define us as a great nation.
“And that begins today with an immediate reset of my
government's approach to working with the First and Deputy First
Ministers because meaningful co-operation centred on respect will
be key to delivering change across our United Kingdom.
“Together we can begin the work to rebuild our
country with a resolute focus on serving working people once
again.”
Following on from his conversations with the First Ministers and
Deputy First Minister on Friday, the Prime Minister will
emphasise that the election of his government signifies a turned
page, with a relentless single focus on restoring public service
to the UK Government.
