“Under Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives, we are boosting school funding to the highest level ever in real terms per pupil, reaching over £60 billion in 2024-25, so that we can deliver the world-class education our children deserve.

“And our plan is working with school standards across the country up from 68 per cent of schools being rated good or outstanding under Labour to 90 per cent today and children in England named ‘Best in the West' for reading.

“The choice is clear: stick with the clear plan that is working, taking bold action to drive up school standards with Rishi Sunak. Or go back to square one with Keir Starmer and the same old Labour Party with high taxes, larger class sizes, and lower school standards.”

• Boosting school funding to the highest level ever in real terms per pupil so our schools and teachers have the tools they need to make sure every child receives a world-class education.  We are providing £2 billion extra school funding this year and next, increasing the school budget to £60.7 billion in 2024-25, fulfilling our pledge to restore per pupil funding to record levels (DfE, Press Release, 19 December 2023, link).

• Driving up school standards across the country with 90 per cent of schools now rated good or outstanding, delivering a world-class education system to our students. Since 2010, we have driven up school standards across the country meaning 90 per cent of schools are now rated good or outstanding, up from 68 per cent under Labour (Ofsted,Official Statistics, 14 March 2024, link).

• Driving up education standards, making England one of the top performing countries for education in the western world. In addition to children in England being named ‘Best in the West' for reading, a worldwide education study shows that England has significantly outperformed the international average and risen from 27^th in 2009 under Labour to 11^th in 2023 under the Conservatives, giving our children the best platform to build successful careers (DfE, Press Release, 5 December 2023, link).
