Post Office promise to publish HR report accusing Read

The Post Office has agreed to provide the Business and Trade Committee with documents that it understands to be the ‘HR report’ at the centre of a row between the firm’s former Chair and its CEO.

In an evidence session last week, Henry Staunton held up an “80-page” report he claimed demonstrated that an investigation reported to be into himself centred on current boss Nick Read.

Writing to the Committee, the Post Office’s Senior Independent Director, Ben Tidswell, suggested that the document in question is most likely a 12-page whistleblowing ‘Speak Up’ report. He has agreed to provide this within the next 24 hours.

A spokesperson for the Committee said, “The Committee welcome the intention of the Post Office to share the documents. It will see what the Post Office provides tomorrow before determining any appropriate next actions.”
