Pat McFadden comments on reports Oliver Dowden is urging Rishi Sunak to call an early election

Pat McFadden MP, Labour's National Campaign Coordinator, commenting on reports that the Deputy Prime Minister is urging Rishi Sunak to call an early general election, said:

“Even senior Tories recognise there is no point in this government hanging on any longer.  

“The Prime Minister should stop sitting around waiting for something to turn up. He should get on and call the election and let the British people pass their verdict on the past 14 years.”
